Haven't written for a while... Sorry about that.

Anyways, onto this post. About the title: I watched a film last night and it was pretty good, it's called Wristcutters: A Love Story. There's a song on it called "Through The Roof 'N' Underground", and I fell in love with it. So I went hunting to find out what it was ['Cause I didn't know at the time] and found out it was by someone called Gogol Bordello. I love it, I'm obsessed with it right now. So, that's the explanation of the title.

I don't really have much else to talk about. Urm... I'm really bored just now. That's the only reason I'm posting, haha. Oh jeeze, I don't know what to talk about so Imma leave!

So, was the first say back at school today. I can't say it went that great to be honest. First off, we get this whole welcome back talk and expectations for being in the senior year and all that crap. Then, I get to art, and find out I have to miraculously produce about 4 detailed sketches for tomorrow because I haven't done it yet. I  then find out that my English teacher wants me to move down a class because I missed one mark for my writing exam. Overall though, I got a grade that is fine, so I shouldn't have to be asked to move down a class. Then I discover that one of my classes is being cancelled so I'll have to choose another class in the same column but there isn't any classes that I want/can take, so there isn't anything I can do. No doubt they'll make me go into a class I don't want to be in. I hate my school so much sometimes, I really do!

I just finished watching Pocahontas. I haven't seen it for about 10 years, it was so good to watch it again! I can't say it's one of my favourite Disney films but I still love it all the same. I love pretty much all Disney films though. They're amazing. The Lion King is the best though - it's my most favourite film ever. I love it so much! I always have, since I was tiny wee, hehe.

I saw Atonement the other night... Omg, I hated it. Seriously, that's 2 hours of my life I'm never getting back. I thought it was so boring! Well, no... The start wasn't too bad...

Just finished watching "In Bruges". It was quite good. Some really funny bits. Colin Farrell is just sex on legs, and having an Irish accent just makes him all the more sexy. Seriously, he's amazing. And he has the cutest eyebrows I've ever seen, hehe. Anyways, back to the film! It was really funny, the plot was alright, nothing special, but it wasn't boring either. I'm not sure if I liked the end or not... I don't think I like endings where you don't know what happens, I like endings that let you know what happens after the film's finished. Overall, it was a good film. I'd definitely watch it again.

I've started downloading the Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony video 'cause I never got to see it and I really want to see it. I'm also gonna watch all the videos on the site. I don't normally like anything to do with sports, but there's just something about the Olympics that makes me really want to watch it and be a part of it. Maybe it's because it's in China and I find China to be a really fascinating and colourful place. Hmm, who knows. I just know that I want to be a part of Beijing 2008. =] I missed the gymnastics though, I really wanted to see that. I'll try and find videos of it. If anyone could help out, that would be great!

Ok, so I decided to try and watch 100 films in 2008. I've been keeping a list since the 30th december 2007, so that'll come in handy. Also, this list will only include films that I've never seen before watching in 2008, films that I have seen will have no number next to them and a strike through them. I'm also keeping count of how many times I've watched each film.

Just finished changing my layouts and profile layouts on here and [info]lolos_world. It's taken me a while, I started at about 6 and just finished about 10 minutes ago. I like my outcomes though, they're really nice. I pretty much just wanted to change them to make them more personal to me and also more eye-catching for people. Because as everyone knows, people aren't going to want to stay or go back somewhere that doesn't look nice, right?

Anyways, someone requested some American McGee's Alice screen caps so I did it for them and now I really feel like playing it again. I haven't played that game for so long and now I feel like playing it again. I don't think I ever finished, well, without cheating anyway, haha. So, I think after I've finished this post I shall go and play for a while. Not for too long though, 'cause I need to start getting back into a regular sleeping pattern for going back to school.

I just discovered [when editing my profile] that you can put your Last.FM user name into your profile and it automatically posts what music you're listening to. That's pretty cool. I find small things like that interesting and cool. Seriously, when I saw it I was like "omg, ace!" Haha.

Well, I can't really think of anything to fill this blog post up with, so I think I'll just be off to play Alice now.

God, I hate English. I've just finished my book and all the notes I had to do on it. Don't get me wrong, I loved the book, it was great. But I would much rather have read it on my own terms and in my own personal time, where I didn't have to finish it in a certain time and didn't have to stop and analyse everything I read and write it down and question it. I'm looking into other books by Haruki Murakami, I did really like the book, so I'm interested in reading more books by him. The only thing I am worried about is that when books get translated into other languages they often lose some of the original book, which I really don't want to be the case. I guess there isn't much I can do about it though.
Anyways, the main reason I hate English is because of the poetry. I hate poetry. But the whole of the higher course is pretty much just poetry! Ahh. I'm going to die. Right now, I'm meant to be looking for 2 poems and then analysing them, but I can't understand a freakin' word of any of them! Seriously. I hate poetry so much. And then I've got all this art work to do in a week. Jeeze, it's stressful.

In other news, I've started downloading Green Wing. I love it so much. I watched it on TV when it was on. But they only ever did 2 series. I wish they did more, it was hilarious. I think the Scottish wifey was probably my favourite, so she was so damn funny. Either her or the guy with the black curly hair [Omg, I can't even remember their names anymore! That's bad, haha], he was funny too. They were all funny. I would just love them to make another series, but I doubt they will. It wasn't successful enough. Sucks.

I got new shoes! Aren't they just amazing? I love them! I've been wearing them the whole day. They're actually pretty comfy. My feet don't hurt yet. I got them for my cousin's wedding. It's next friday, I can't wait! It's gonna be pretty good. But I'm not dancing. I refuse to dance, lol. I got a really nice dress for it too from TKMaxx [sp?]. It was only £19 or something, but it's ripped down the front. I don't care though, I love the dress so much, hehe. It's black and quite tight. It's sleeveless and got one strap which has diamond things on it, it's really nice. When my best friend saw it she said I have to go to the christmas dance 'cause it's so nice. Doubt it. Lol. I never go to dances. I don't dance. It's pointless. I might go this year though, I'll just run to the toilet every time someone asks me to dance, haha! Nah, I'll think about it. Maybe.

Helloo again. No, I haven't gone to sleep since the last post. D'you know what I've been doing since the last post? I've bee nreading! Yes, I've actually started my school work. English work, to be precise. I'm reading "Norwegian Wood" by Haruki Murakami. I have to read it and take detailed notes on pretty much everything that happens and why. I hate analysing books, but for English, it must be done I guess. What's worse than analysing books? Analysing films! I hate analysing films, I'd rather just watch them... But now that I've analysed a few films in English I find myself analysing every film I watch... My dad says it's a good thing but I disagree. I'd rather just sit back, relax and enjoy the film rather than analyse everything about it.

Anyways... Now that's I've started my English work, I can assume it'll be finished by thursday. But I also have art work to do... I have to make 6 detailed sketches and also draw something to do with the words "coral", "handicap" and "overwork." Great. But for that, I have decided to use the book "Strange Stains and Mysterious Smells", so hopefully if I can get that before the summer ends I can get some good inspiration for most of my art project. I also have to do some work on my design project in which I've chosen to design a kimono. Gah! Why did I leave all of this 'till the last again? >.<

Just finished watching Dirty Sanchez: The Movie. That's the first time I've actually seen the film... I've seen a few of the episodes but I've never seen the film before. I didn't see it from the start, I only saw the last hour or so of it. But from what I did see, I can see a lot of similarities between Dirty Sanchez and Jackass, for example, some of the same stunts and also, Dainton seems to be a bit of a Bam wannabe. Whenever I saw him I thought of Bam immediately... Hmm. Of course, I prefer Jackass a hell of a lot to Dirty Sanchez [especially because of Bam, I'm in love with him <3] and just because I find the guys to be a hell of a lot funnier. But anyway, other than noticing some of the same things being on Dirty Sanchez that are also on Jackass, it was an alright film. Some of the things they were doing were crazy and hella funny, but again, I couldn't stop thinking about Jackass and how much funnier they are. I'm just biased because I love Jackass [and Bam] so much.

Other than watching that I haven't done anything... I got up at around 3.30am because my sleeping pattern is totally messed up... It always is on the holidays. I haven't even started any of my school work yet and we go back to school in a week.. Eeks! I think I'll finish doing this blog post, make some avatars, have a nosey around LJ and then try to get a good chunk of my school work done because I won't have enough time over the next few days to get most of it done. Oh god, I'm panicing now >.<

I better go now, eeks! Dx

Well, hello and welcome to my journal!
I've been a member of LJ for quite a while now, but surprisingly haven't actually posted anything yet. I did have quite a few posts before, but they were all graphics posts and I have my own graphics journal now, so I just deleted them.  I should also probably move my resources post to my graphics journal... I'll do that soon.

Anyways! I should probably introduce myself... Who's actually gonna read this? It's kind of a waste of time... Oh well, I might as well post something on the lines of interesting for my -official- first post, so here goes:

I'm Lauren, but everyone calls me Lolo, or Pinky. I'm 15 and live in Scotland. I love it here and couldn't imagine living anywhere else, I actually really do love it. My second most favourite place in the world would have to be Portugal. I've been there numerous times on holiday and can't wait to go back for another holiday ASAP. Speaking of places around the world, I'm obsessed with Japan and everything to do with it. I'm learning Japanese [by myself] and can't wait for the day when I actually go there, which is my only dream in life right now. I just love everything about Japan, I find it amazing!
A big part of my life would have to be music... I couldn't live without music. It would make like -so- dull and just, non-livable really. Music gives you that escape that -everyone- needs once in a while. And also, I listen to every type of music imaginable. Really. I just live any kind of music. I -hate- how people can be so close-minded about music. That's one thing that really gets to me. Especially people who slag you off for liking a particular genre of music or artist... Fair enough, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but please, don't push it onto other people. If someone likes something that you don't just say "Oh ok, well, I really don't like them, but if you do, fair enough, I'm not gonna harass you about it." That's all that needs to be said.
Another big part of my life has to be animals. I love animals so much. I would love to work with animals when I'm older, that would be amazing. I'm a vegetarian, and have been for over 2 years. I'm incredibly happy and proud of myself because of this because when I announced to everyone that I know that I was going to turn vegeterian they all said "Oh, it's just a phase, it'll pass" and "Ah, she'll never stick to it... It'll last a month, I bet you!" When people said this it kind of hurt me that they weren't taking me seriously... But then I thought "Well, they'll see, I'll prove them wrong" and I'm proud that I have. And really, I'm most probably going to be a vegetarian for the rest of my life... I mean, I can't tell what's going to happen in the future, but right now I can say that I couldn't even imagine eating meat again in my life, the thought of it kind of makes me feel sick. =/

Ok, I think that's enough babble from me now... Probably pointless, as I doubt anyone will read it... If anyone does, please give me a comment, even if it's just saying" yeah, I read this" that's fine by me, just so that I know someone's read it! =]
